Going beyond organic food for optimal health with Joel Salatin

(NaturalHealth365) Many people tend to feel that cancer, heart disease, autoimmune disorders, chronic stress and environmental pollution can only be cured by the ‘experts.’ Of course, others think that eating organic food is the ‘only answer’. But, when we look at the big picture, to achieve optimal health – we’ll need to go beyond organic or the advice of professionals.

Action steps: To achieve optimal health

If you’re suffering with any chronic disease condition – this article can’t cure you, but hopefully these tips can move you in the right direction. Sadly, conventional medicine tends to overlook the best solutions – such as:

1. Get into the kitchen. Restaurant food tends to be loaded with too much salt, sugar and genetically modified organisms – that it’s no wonder we see so many problems related to digestion and metabolic disorders.

To solve your personal health issues – buy only the best quality (raw) ingredients, from the most reliable places you can find, and put your meals together – yourself. If you live ‘on the go’, may I suggest you make (and pack) your own meals to avoid having to purchase junk food outside the home.

2. Turn off the T.V. I’m not just saying that, after 40+ years of television – I am thrilled to say that my T.V. was thrown out and I’ve never felt better. After all, why should I give my hard earned money to a cable provider – just to hear bad news?

As an alternative, devote more time to optimal health strategies by reading a book, watching an inspirational documentary or sign up for a course that teaches you how to live a healthy life. Let’s face it – that’s time well spent.

3. Do something yourself. This goes back to what I said earlier. Don’t rely on the ‘experts’ to solve your problems. There’s nothing wrong with asking for professional help, but be an active participant in your life.

Some worthy activities may include: growing your own food; starting a bee hive; getting some chickens to enjoy your own fresh eggs; improve your carpentry skills, the list goes on and on. Bottom line, do something you enjoy – that lifts your spirits.

On the next NaturalNews Talk Hour, Joel Salatin and Jonathan Landsman talk about why we should be so concerned about our current farming practices; why factory-farmed food must be avoided and, most importantly, what we can do to thrive in today’s society.
