How to get over a cold fast without drugs

(NaturalHealth365) Have you ever wondered how to get over a cold fast – without the need for unwanted (toxic) medications?  Unfortunately, as people spend more time indoors – away from natural sunlight – the risk of getting a viral infection goes way up – especially during the winter months.

Although, for some people, a cold or flu is a rare occurrence. My late husband, Jay Kordich, was one of those people. In fact, for over 30 years, I rarely saw him get a cold and never have a flu virus.  Stay with me and I’ll explain why.

Western medicine knows little to nothing about how to support natural immunity

You may be wondering, “what’s the secret” to avoiding a cold?  Well, Jay would say he simply took very good care of his body by juicing – for over 70 years, eating a vegan diet and living a healthy life.

I, however used to have lots of colds, but for the past 15 years or so, I too have had only a few. As a result, Jay and I came to the conclusion that there are certain things we MUST do to prevent a cold or flu from getting us down.

It’s my opinion, those of us who get colds frequently – including the flu – have an immune system that is not strong enough or is overburdened – which give easy access to invading organisms.  People with stronger immune function can naturally fight off a cold or viral infection from invading the body.

It may seem so obvious, yet Western medicine never says this and continues to promote the use of over-the-counter drug “solution.”

Simple ways to minimize your risk of illness

I have learned to recognize that, when I first feel a cold coming on, it’s important to cleanse the system out completely so the pathogens don’t have much to live and breed on. This is why it’s important to immediately cleanse the bowels via a quick enema and calm the digestive tract by eating only blended foods and drink.

If you feel run down, start drinking fresh vegetable juices; add fresh, raw garlic to your daily meals; ramp up your consumption of digestive enzymes and probiotics; plus, don’t forget a few essential nutritional supplements (i.e. vitamin C) – which will help to neutralize those pathogens safely and quickly.

Here’s how to get over a cold fast – without the need for toxic medications

1. Drink grapefruit/lemon/ginger/garlic tonic daily (see my recipe below)
2. Take 5 times the amount of daily probiotics and enzymes as usual
3. Give yourself a quick coffee enema
4. Drink 1/2 of your body weight (in ounces) of purified water with some lemon wedges added
5. Eat blended foods: Blended veggie soups heavy on the garlic and ginger – see my recipe below
6. Get plenty of rest and keep your body warm
7. Take olive leaf extract, astragalus and grapefruit seed extract – daily
8. Don’t forget to take lots of vitamin C.  I suggest you learn more about the “multi-C protocol

Recipe #1: One of my favorites – an “anti-cold juice tonic”

  • 2 grapefruits, peeled – leave as much white as possible
  • 1 lemon with skin – organic only
  • 1.5 inches of fresh ginger
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 apples
  • 2 cups fresh berries – cranberries, blackberries, strawberries or raspberries would be fine

Naturally, make sure all your produce is organic.  And, yes, you can actually blend this healing tonic as well as juice it. This recipe will produce about 2 liters of juice – which you can sip throughout the day.

Recipe #2: A blended soup to keep the doctor away

In your blender – place the following ingredients, all in at one time:

  • 1 cup purified water
  • 1/2 red onion (peeled)
  • 1 inch fresh ginger root
  • 2 cups spinach
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 cup of parsley
  • 1 large avocado
  • 1 cup of green cabbage
  • 1/2 cup of cucumber
  • Add sea salt and cayenne pepper to taste, blend and serve!

My final thoughts on avoiding colds and the flu this winter season. Stay away from eating a diet rich in processed sugars and conventionally-raised dairy products. They often become vehicles to deliver viruses – which accelerate rapidly throughout the body.

For those of us who work near young children or people over 70 years old, you’ll want to keep your immune system strong, please make sure to drink these tonics – a few times a week.  Follow these tips and enjoy a healthy winter season!
